New applications and additional capabilities of checklists in retail
Traditionally, audits on checklist are carried out to achieve two objectives:
junior staff assessment/self-check;
performance analysis of each specific branch of the network.
Both formats involve a deep work analysis of retail outlets and their employees, revealing weak, challenging areas. However, there is one more direction of the use of checklists, which is not yet tried out and therefore is not put on a grand scale. It's an identification of the head office miscalculations. Lack of established communication between departments, reaction to the stores’ requests, untimely and as a consequence, unreliable analytics, prevent the company from achieving ambitious goals. Irina Ivanova, ex-head of retail business technology management of the Modis federal stores network, will tell how to identify obstacles to business development. She led the pilot system of MD Audit electronic checklists, applied by the company, including for the assessment of the performance quality of job duties by the employees of the central office departments and compliance with contractual relations of contractors.
